After a very competitive season, Danielle Ker has won this year's Order of Merit.
Well done to all the girls who played this year.

Border Girls matchplay finals

Tara Mactaggart has beaten Dani Ker in the final of the girls matchplay final held at Duns today.  In very blustery conditions, Tara came back after being 2 down at the 11th to win 2 & 1. 
Leanne Wilson beat Amy Martin 6 & 5 in the 3rd/4th place play-off
An enjoyable day was had by all, many thanks to Duns Golf Club especially Jim McDevitt for all his help.

Southerness -1st September

The South of Scotland Girls Championship was played at Southerness Golf Club last Saturday when the weather was sunny and dry but with an extremely strong wind which made scoring very difficult for the Girls.
The South of Scotland Girls Champion for 2012 is Tara McTaggart (pictured right from Minto with a score of 80 and 74 = 154
Runner - up was Dani Ker (Roxburghe) with 77 and 82 = 159.
Mirren Fraser (Powfoot) was the handicap winner of the autumn medal

South match vs East - Kelso 23rd September

Scottish Girls at Crail

Lauren Whyte wins the Scottish Girls at Crail beating Ailsa Summers 4&2

After a brilliant quarter final win against Jessica Meek Rachel Walker's run in the Scottish girls has come to an end after losing at the final hole in the semi's against Lauren Whyte who will now play Ailsa Summers tomorrow in the final

Only Rachel Walker left in the quarters she won 7&5. She plays Jessica Meek who beat Katie Wright 6&5.

That's Katie Wright (2 holes) and Rachel Walker (4&2) through to the next round in the championship.‎

2nd round cancelled at Crail. Match play draw decided on first round scores. In the main championship Emma Kennedy plays Lesley Atkins the winner of that plays either Dani Ker or Eva OConnor. Rachel Walker plays Linsey Stevenson. Katie Wright plays Eilidh Watson and the winner of that tie plays Tara Mactaggart or Jessica Meek. All the above ties in top half of draw only member of south girls in bottom half is Mirren Fraser who will be playing Hannah Scott.

SOSGGA Summer Medal

Eight girls played today at the Dumfries & Galloway which was so much dryer than those across in the Borders in the SOSGGA summer medal.  
Tara Mactaggart played lovely golf to win with a net 71,  Leanne Wilson was runner up with a net 73.  Danielle Ker won the scratch with a gross 82.  (CSS71)

Katie Wright wins her first game in 4 years at Ballumbie winning 3&2 with Leanne. Dani and Tara birdied 4 in a row to win 5&4 Mirren and Emma got beat 3&2, looks like we have finished 3rd overall

Ballumbie

The first day at Ballumbie now finished with a few close hard games.
Tara and Dani as well as Emma and Leanne halved their games this morning against the west.
Our afternoon games all went to the 18th. Tara and Dani were 5 down after 6 holes but fought back magnificently to win 2 up. Mirren and Emma let a 2 hole lead at 15 slip and were beaten by a hole. Leanne and Katie were 1 down coming up the last and unfortunately just failed to gain the half.
I don't know if I can take much more drama!!!

After discussion at Committee we have followed SLGA lead and are not allowing GPS measuring devices in BLCGA competitions

Day Two BLCGA Championships

Congratulations to the junior girls who made finals day at the Roxburghe today.

In the first semi Tara Mactaggart was eventually beaten at the fourth extra hole by Leanne Wilson.  Leanne, playing in her second final was beaten by the experienced now nine times champion Judith Anderson

13 year old Amy Martin took Alison Fleming to the 18th in the first semi of the bronze championship
11 year old Rhea Middlemas with her dad on the bag, who only got her first handicap in October last year won the other against Sammie Barr 6&5. She then beat Alison in the final at the14th.

Well done and congratulations to all the girls who played this weekend

Day one - BLCGA Championships

Thats the first day of the BLCGA Championships over - bring on tomorrow
In the first round Tara Mactaggart and Danielle Ker had good wins against Shiela Leifer and Gillian Oliver respectively, Leanne Wilson won on the 19th hole against Kirsty Inkpen
In the quarters Tara had to work very hard to get through against Sharon Paterson at the final green, Danielle struggled with her game against Leanne eventually losing on the 17th

In the Bronze quarters the youngsters had a brilliant day with Amy Martin beating the no1 seed Lucille Patterson 4&3 and Rhea Middlemass winning 3&2 against the no2 seed Kath Fletcher

Tomorrow Tara plays Leanne in the first semi final of the main championship the winner will meet either Judith Anderson or Ailsa Bain in the final
In the bronze semis Amy plays Alison Fleming, Rhea will play Sammie Barrie
Good luck to the four of you tomorrow and play well

BLCGA Championship

Good luck to all the girls who have qualified for the Border Ladies Championship at The Roxburghe this weekend
Tara, Dani & Leanne all playtheir first round ties on Saturday morning in the main championship.
Amy & Rhea play their first round on Saturday afternoon in the bronze championship.

Fairhaven Trophy

Tara MacTaggart is playing in the Nations cup at Fairhaven , Lytham St Annes this weekend.  2 boys and a girl are in each team, Scotland have 3 teams entered.  Scotland are current holders of the cup.

BLCGA - Spring Competition - Kelso 29th April

In brutal conditions at Kelso today, Tara MacTaggart won the Border Ladies championship qualifier with a 78-4=74.  This means that she was leading qualifier for the County Championships to be held at The Roxburghe on 12/13th May, Tara will play Shiela Leifer in the first round, 5th qualifier Danielle Ker will play county captain Gillian Oliver.
Congratulations also go to Amy Martin and Rhea Middlemas who both qualified for the bronze championships, Amy plays no 1 seed Lucille Paterson, Rhea plays Kath Fletcher.

Dani Ker partnered by Denise Richards, in a very close game, finished with a well deserved half against Midlothian stalwarts Karen Marshall & Linda Bain. 
Tara Mactaggart, partnering Judith Anderson were beaten in a tough game against Rachel Livingstone & Louise Fraser
Leanne Wilson & Amy Martin fought a battle against Kirsty Simpson & Kirsty Burgess in the junior match only to get beat 2&1. 
Everyone enjoyed their day and are looking forward to the match against East Lothian next week
