Leanne, Amy and Megan win at girls championships

Megan, Amy & Leanne
Leanne Wilson (Kelso) continued her winning spree by winning the scratch prize at the Girls championships today with a 93. Amy Martin (Hawick) won the handicap, she shot a net 70. Megan Brennan (Kelso) won the pre-handicap section 9 hole competition with a 63. Unfortunately both Tara Mactaggart and Danielle Ker had to withdraw at the last minute due to injuries, Tara has a bad ankle and Dani had been knocked of her bike during her paper round on Saturday morning. Hopefully both will be fit for next weekend.
Many thanks to the Hirsel for courtesy of the course, especially to Allan Rodger (sec), Michael Hackett (pro) and Mary Murray(ladies h/c secy) for their help and assistance

Championship Finals day 2011

In the first semi final of the day Leanne Wilson (Kelso) beat Danielle Ker (Roxburghe), she sunk a putt from off the green on the 16th to seal the match 3 & 2. Ailsa Bain (Peebles) won her semi final against Tara Mactaggart (Minto) on the 15th.

Leanne Wilson, only 14 years old who has a handicap of 16, was last year's bronze division champion. She had played really steady golf over the two days and did extremely well to get to the final but found it difficult against the more experienced 19 year old Ailsa who won easily 7 & 5

Future is looking bright for ladies golf in the Borders!!!
